Contribution Terms of Service

PRIVACY POLICY

The privacy of your personal information is important to the Hispanic Liverpool Community Collection (referred to henceforth as HLCC). We neither capture nor store personal information through the HLCC without the prior consent of users. Any personal information collected as part of the user registration process or the submission of material (including, but not limited to, name, address, e-mail address, phone number) will be stored securely on Warwick University servers, and accessible only to members of the HLCC project team. We will not sell, license or trade your personal information to others. We do not provide your personal information to direct marketing companies or other such organizations.


SUBMISSION AGREEMENT

We can accept digital material to the HLCC under two different agreements. In either case, before you can submit material online to the HLCC, you must agree to the HLCC Terms for User Contributions.

Public Submission

By submitting material and clicking publish my contribution on the web, you guarantee that: 

  1. Material you submit is not copyright protected or you own the rights to this material or the owner of these rights has authorized you to submit this material.
  2. You permit the material you submit (e.g. a photograph or group of photographs; audio or video material; other documents) to be freely accessible via the HLCC website under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 International license. This means that by submitting material to the HLCC, you irrevocably grant third parties the right to copy and redistribute that material, as long as they give appropriate credit and provide a link to the license. Any further distribution of the material must be under the same license as the original and it may not be adapted, modified or used for commercial purposes.
  3. Any descriptive data you contribute (e.g. tags, descriptions, comments) is intended to be public and viewable by others. It can be found by search engines and used by everybody who finds it, without further conditions.

Private Submission

By submitting material and NOT clicking publish my contribution on the web, you guarantee that:

  1. Material you submit is not copyright protected or you own the rights to this material or the owner of these rights has authorized you to submit this material.
  2. You permit the material you submit (e.g. a photograph or group of photographs; audio or video material; other documents) to be digitally preserved in the HLCC and viewable by the HLCC project team for purposes of research or information, but not to be made public and viewable by others without your written permission.
By accepting material as a private submission, the HLCC guarantees that:

  1. We will preserve the material in the same form and under the same conditions as material submitted as a public submission.
  2. We will not publish or disseminate the material in any format without the written permission of the submitter.

Notice and TakedownPolicy

In making material available online the HLCC acts in good faith. Nonetheless, we recognise that from time to time material published online may be in breach of copyright laws, contain sensitive personal data, or otherwise require further investigation. If you find material on our website that you believe is under your copyright but included without your permission, contravenes privacy laws, please contact us in writing with the following information:

1. Your contact details
2. Full details of the material
3. The full URL where you found the material
4. The reason for your request, including but not limited to copyright law, privacy laws, data protection, etc.
5. If the request relates to copyright, please provide proof that you are the rights holder and a statement that, under penalty of perjury, you are the rights holder or are an authorized representative.
