The date of the photograph is estimated as 1909-10 from the ages of Carmen (b. 1907) and José (b. 1909). At the time of the 1911 census, Baltasar and Ysabel were living in Upper Frederick Street, Liverpool. Baltasar was a boatswain in the merchant service, and Ysabel was a dressmaker.
