Description of the Photo:
This is a photograph used as a postcard and addressed to 'Mrs Elordieta' - aka Saturnina Elordieta nee Clemencot - at 41 Hurst St.
The subject is unknown; she is holding an instrument that may be the traditionally Spanish mandoline, or (since it looks triangular) a balalaika. She is wearing a broad ribbon around her head, drop earrings, a white blouse with mutton-chop sleeves and a ruff at the neck, a bolero, and a long skirt, cinched at the waist.
Museum of Liverpool catalogue data: MLL.2006.10.4 - Postcard featuring image of seated girl with musical instrument in traditional costume. Inscribed 'Fond remembrance your loving friend Lizzie', addressed to Mrs Elordieta, 41 Hurst Street, Off Wapping, Liverpool.
